Two more die of dengue; 573 hospitalised

Two people have died of dengue in the past 24 hours, while 573 patients were admitted to hospitals, according to a press release from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Monday (September 8).

Both of the recent deaths were men, and 420 of the newly infected patients are from outside Dhaka.

So far this year, dengue has claimed 137 lives, including 75 men and 62 women. A total of 34,984 people have been infected, with 20,963 men and 14,210 women affected.

Authorities continue to urge the public to take preventive measures and seek medical attention promptly if symptoms appear.
