Two Russian nationals brawl at Rooppur, one killed

A Russian national was killed and another critically injured in a clash between two Russian nationals at the Green City residential area of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant project in Ishwardi, Pabna .

It has been learned that the deceased, Kudrin Sergei (56), and the injured Menchev (53), got into an argument while drinking together on Monday morning. The argument escalated into a physical altercation, leaving both seriously injured. Both were employees of Trest Rossem, a contracting company working on the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant project .

Following the incident, Green City staff rescued the two and first took them to a local hospital. As their condition deteriorated, Kudrin Sergei died on the way to a private hospital in Pabna. The injured Menchev is currently receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a private hospital in Pabna city.

Ishwardi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Asadur Rahman said the body of the deceased has been sent to Pabna General Hospital morgue for autopsy. The exact cause of death will be known after the post-mortem report is received . The incident is being investigated and necessary legal action will be taken.
