Two ‘Shooters’ arrested in Pallabi Jubo Dal Leader killing: RAB
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested two individuals in connection with the shooting death of Pallabi Youth League leader Golam Kibria in Dhaka’s Mirpur area.
The suspects were found in possession of a foreign-made revolver and ammunition, RAB confirmed on Friday (March 27).
Details of the arrests will be shared at a press briefing at RAB-4 headquarters later today.
Kibria, a member-secretary of Pallabi Thana’s Jubo Dal and a businessman who sold medical equipment to various establishments, was shot dead on the evening of 17 November last year by three masked assailants at his shop, ‘Bikrampur Hardware and Sanitary,’ in Mirpur-12 B Block.
Following the incident, the attackers fled the scene in a battery-powered auto-rickshaw.
The attackers also shot the driver in the waist when the vehicle failed to move fast.
Following the murder, Kibria’s wife, Sabiha Akter Dina, filed a case at Pallabi Police Station, naming five suspects and notes that an additional seven to eight unidentified individuals were involved in the attack.
