Two special trains to carry devotees for Sholakia Eid congregation

Like every year, Bangladesh Railway will operate two special trains to facilitate devotees to join the country’s largest congregation of Eid-ul-Fitr at the historic Sholakia ground in the district.

One train will depart from Mymensingh and return there after the Eid congregation. The other will run from Bhairab to Kishoreganj and, after the prayers, it will return to Bhairab.

Kishoreganj Deputy Commissioner and President of the Sholakia Eidgah Ground Management Committee, Mohammad Aslam Molla, and Kishoreganj Railway Station Master Khalilur Rahman confirmed the information.

According to sources, a special train named “Sholakia Eid Special” will leave Mymensingh Junction at 6:00 am and reach Kishoreganj Station at 8:30 am.

After the Eid congregation at the historic Sholakia ground, the train will depart Kishoreganj at 12:00 pm and arrive back in Mymensingh at 3:00 pm.

Along the way, it will stop for two minutes at Shambhuganj, Biska, Gouripur, Bokainagar, Ishwarganj, Sohagi, Atharbari, Nandail Road, Musulli, and Nilganj stations.

Meanwhile, another Eid special train will leave Bhairab Junction at 6:00 am for Kishoreganj, arriving at 8:00 am. After the prayers, it will depart Kishoreganj at 12:00 pm and reach Bhairab at 2:00 pm. This train will stop at Kalikaprasad, Chhoysuti, Kuliarchar, Bajitpur, Sararchar, Halim Maksudpur, Manikkhali, and Gachihata stations.

This year, the 199th Eid-ul-Fitr congregation will be held at the historic Sholakia Eidgah ground in Kishoreganj at 10:00 am. Bangladesh Railway introduces such special trains every Eid to ensure that devotees from the Mymensingh region can participate in the country’s largest Eid congregation.
