Two students missing for three days in Lakshmipur, families file GDs

Two students have been missing for three days after leaving their homes in Lakshmipur’s Raipur on Sunday morning to attend their respective educational institutions, prompting their families to file separate general diaries with police.

The missing students are Arafat Sayem, son of businessman Zakir Hossain of Keroya Union, and Mohammad Ikramul Hasan Minhaj, the only son of expatriate Emran Hossain and Fahima Akter of Gazinagar in Charpata Union. Both are 14 years of old.

Sayem is a sixth-grade student at Raipur LM Pilot High School, while Minhaj studies in the sixth grade at Raipur Alia Kamil Madrasa.

According to their families, both boys left home on Sunday morning saying they were going to their respective institutions but did not return later in the day. They searched relatives’ homes and other possible locations but could not find them.

The families later shared the students’ photographs on social media, seeking public assistance in locating them and urging anyone with information to contact the police or their families.

Sayem’s father Zakir Hossain and Minhaj’s father Emran Hossain filed separate general diaries at Raipur Police Station on Monday night after failing to locate their sons.

Nizam Uddin Bhuiyan, officer-in-charge (OC) of Raipur Police Station, confirmed that separate GDs had been filed over the disappearances.

"Police are investigating the cases and efforts are underway to locate the two students," he said.
