Two unidentified bodies recovered from separate footpaths in Shahbagh
Police recovered the bodies of two unidentified men from two separate footpaths in the Shahbagh area of the capital on Sunday morning (July 12).
The bodies were found at Anandabazar and in front of Amar Ekushey Hall of the University of Dhaka, prompting locals to alert police after spotting the men lying motionless.
According to Shahbagh Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Al Mamun, officers recovered the two men and rushed them to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College (Dhaka Medical) around 11:00am, where doctors declared both dead.
Police said the identities of the deceased have not yet been established. One of the men is estimated to be around 55 years old, while the other was believed to be about 60.
Authorities have launched efforts to identify the victims, and both bodies have been sent to the Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy.
Police said the exact cause of death will be determined after further investigation.
