Two unidentified bodies recovered in Dhaka

Police have recovered the bodies of two unidentified individuals from the Shahbagh and Badda areas of the capital. The bodies were recovered at different times on Wednesday and sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsies.

Sub-Inspector Nazmul Hasan of Shahbagh Police Station said that around 3pm on Wednesday, passers-by spotted the body of a man, aged around 35, lying under a footbridge opposite the Poet Sufia Kamal Hall of Dhaka University and informed police. Police later went to the scene and recovered the body.

Police said the individual was homeless and a regular drug user. It is believed he may have died from illness. However, the CID's Crime Scene Unit has been informed to confirm his identity.

Meanwhile, Badda Police Station recovered the body of another unidentified man, aged around 50, from the Goudarghat Lake area in Badda on Wednesday morning.

Badda Police Station Sub-Inspector Md Hafizur Rahman said the body was recovered based on information provided by locals. According to locals, he was also homeless. It is initially believed that he died from illness.

Police said both bodies have been sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsies. The actual cause of death will be confirmed after the autopsy reports are received.
