Two Victor Paribahan buses catch fire in Dhaka

Two buses belonging to Victor Paribahan caught fire in the capital’s Merul Badda and Shahjadpur areas Monday morning (November 10).

According to the Fire Service and Civil Defence, the incidents were reported around 5:40am. Four firefighting units were dispatched to the spots and managed to bring the flames under control shortly afterward.

No casualties were reported in connection with the fires. However, local residents said the sudden blazes caused panic in the areas before firefighters arrived.

Duty officer Rashed Bin Khalid of the Fire Service said the cause of the fires has not yet been determined.

"An investigation is underway to identify the source of the incidents," he added.

Police have also visited both locations to determine whether the fires were accidental or acts of sabotage.
