UK wants free and participatory elections in Bangladesh
The UK wants to see free, fair and participatory elections in the next national parliamentary elections, said British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarah Cooke.
She said this after a meeting with the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) at the Election Building in Agargaon in the capital at 11:30 am on Monday (March 10).
Sarah Cooke said, "We came for discussions. We have learned about the preparations for the national elections and we are interested in assisting the Election Commission in the next parliamentary elections. We want free, fair and participatory elections in the next national parliamentary elections."
Sarah Cooke was accompanied by Timothy Duckett, Head of the High Commission's Political and Governance Team, in the meeting.
