UNESCO official meets IGP

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam met with Mehdi Benchelah, Senior Project Officer of UNESCO's Section for Freedom of Expression, at Police Headquarters on Thursday morning (July 2).

According to a press release, the meeting focused on initiatives to strengthen the capacity of the Bangladesh Police through specialised training programs, particularly in areas related to freedom of expression and media engagement.

IGP Baharul Alam expressed his appreciation for UNESCO's ongoing support and emphasized that the Bangladesh Police is committed to continued collaboration with the organization.

Officials from both Bangladesh Police and UNESCO were present during the meeting.
