Unidentified woman killed in road crash on Dhaka’s Hanif Flyover

An unidentified woman was killed in a road accident on Dhaka’s Mayor Hanif Flyover in the Jatrabari area early Wednesday (September 2).

The woman, believed to be around 40 years old, was struck at around 5:30am by an unidentified vehicle near Tony Tower in Dholairpar.

Police recovered her body from the scene after being alerted and later sent it to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Jatrabari Police Station Sub-Inspector Md Saiduzzaman said the woman died on the spot after being hit by a vehicle while on the flyover.

Her identity could not immediately be established.

Police suspect the woman may have been mentally unstable, but the exact circumstances of the accident and her identity are being investigated, Saiduzzaman said.
