Upcoming election is crucial for every citizen: Tarique Rahman

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has said that the upcoming national election is crucial for every citizen in the country. Therefore, women must play a crucial role in preventing the resurgence of fascism, extremism, and radicalism.

He made the remark virtually during a discussion meeting of the Women's Party in the capital on Thursday (July 31).

Tarique Rahman stated that the upcoming election is crucial for shaping the nation — one that should be viewed with the care and compassion of a mother.

“No nation can progress by denying the power of women,” said Tarique Rahman. “Women played a significant role in the anti-fascist movement, yet in today’s context, they remain largely behind in achieving economic independence.”

Tarique further shared the party's plans fto ensuring women’s economic independence. "If women can be educated and made economically independent, domestic violence can be prevented," Tarique said.

He also stated that if the BNP is given the opportunity to govern, family cards will be distributed to at least 5 million marginalized families in the first phase.
