Upcoming election will be a tough test for nation: Tarique
Tarique Rahman, Acting Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has said that the upcoming election will be a tough test for the nation. He described it as the most challenging and competitive election in the country’s history, noting that the people have been denied their voting rights for the past 20 years. With the opportunity to vote now restored, he emphasized that this election has become even more significant.
He made these comments while virtually participating in BNP's workshops in Rangpur and Barishal on Sunday (December 8).
Tarique Rahman said, "For a political worker, the greatest asset is the trust, belief, and affection of the people. Those who were in power for 15 years are no longer in control. They had to flee because they lost the people's trust."
"To progress the country, people from all political backgrounds must come together. If we form a united government, we can safeguard everyone's rights and strengthen democracy," he added.
He further said, "BNP's 31-point demands are not only our party's but also represent the views of many democratic political parties. These 31 points must reach every household. We have battled against autocracy for 17 years, and no one can come to power without the people's support."
