Allegations have surfaced that a worker of the United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) was shot and killed in Panchhari upazila, Khagrachhari. Angya Marma, organiser of the organisation's Khagrachhari unit, informed in a press release that the incident occurred around 11:30 am on Saturday in the Borkona area of Sadar union under Panchhari upazila. However, no details have been provided regarding the reason or those behind the attack. Khagrachhari District Superintendent of Police Mirza Sayem Mahmud said, "The incident is true. However, the body has not yet been recovered." He informed that a police team has been sent to the spot to recover the body. The recovery operation is taking some time as the area is remote. Police are trying to gather detailed information about the incident.

খাগড়াছড়ির পানছড়ি উপজেলায় ইউনাইটেড পিপলস ডেমোক্রেটিক ফ্রন্টের (ইউপিডিএফ) এক কর্মীকে গুলি করে হত্যার অভিযোগ উঠেছে। সংগঠনটির খাগড়াছড়ি ইউনিটের সংগঠক অংগ্য মারমা এক সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে জানান, শনিবার সকাল সাড়ে ১১টার দিকে পানছড়ি উপজেলার সদর ইউনিয়নের বড়কোণা এলাকায় এ ঘটনা ঘটে। তবে কী কারণে বা কারা এ হামলা চালিয়েছে সে বিষয়ে বিস্তারিত কিছু জানানো হয়নি। এ বিষয়ে খাগড়াছড়ি জেলার পুলিশ সুপার মির্জা সায়েম মাহমুদ বলেন, ঘটনা সত্য। তবে লাশ এখনো উদ্ধার করা সম্ভব হয়নি। তিনি জানান, লাশ উদ্ধারে পুলিশের একটি দল ঘটনাস্থলে গেছে। দুর্গম এলাকা হওয়ায় উদ্ধার কার্যক্রমে কিছুটা সময় লাগছে। ঘটনার বিষয়ে বিস্তারিত তথ্য জানার চেষ্টা করছে পুলিশ।
