US Ambassador meets Info Minister

US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T. Christensen paid a courtesy call on Minister for Posts and Telecommunication, ICT Division and Science and Technology Fakir Mahbub Anam at the Minister's office at the Secretariat on Tuesday (March 31).

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of further strengthening the existing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the United States. Various aspects of increasing mutual cooperation in the fields of information technology, digital connectivity, cyber security and telecommunications were discussed.

The Minister said that the current government is working towards building a digital Bangladesh and US cooperation is very important in this regard. He emphasized increasing investment in the information technology sector and exchanging knowledge and technology.

The Ambassador praised the progress of the information technology sector in Bangladesh and assured to continue further cooperation in this sector in the future.

At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed their hope to work together on various issues of mutual interest.

Abdun Nasser Khan, Secretary of the Department of Posts and Telecommunications, Joe Boskey, Economic Officer of the Embassy, ​​and Eric Gillan, Political Economic Counselor, were present during the meeting.
