US ambassador visits Banglabandha land port, zero point in Panchagarh

US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T. Christensen visited the Banglabandha land port and the Bangladesh-India zero point in Panchagarh on Monday (August 31) as part of his three-day tour of northern Bangladesh.

On the second day of his tour, Christensen visited the border facilities and surrounding areas in the morning, taking photographs and selfies during the visit.

Earlier in the day, the ambassador toured areas along the historic Mahananda River in Tetulia and visited the district council dak bungalow. He later visited Panchagarh Modern Sadar Hospital and the district’s Rock Museum.

According to the scheduled itinerary, Christensen was also due to meet Panchagarh-1 lawmaker Barrister Nawshad Zamir at the Panchagarh Circuit House for a bilateral discussion after visiting the hospital and museum.

On Sunday, the first day of his tour, the US envoy visited the Rangpur region, where he toured a modern dairy farm and a traditional local oil mill.

The three-day visit is taking Christensen through several northern districts, with stops highlighting local economic activities, public services, heritage and the region’s border areas.
