US embassy issues new advisory for Bangladeshi travellers

The US embassy in Dhaka has issued a new advisory for Bangladeshi citizens planning to travel to the United States. The embassy has advised travellers to ensure they have sufficient financial capacity to cover all potential expenses, including medical emergencies, during their stay.

The advisory was published on the embassy's Facebook page on Monday, August 3.

The message stated that before travelling to the United States, travellers must ensure they have the financial means to cover their own expenses in the event of any unforeseen disruptions or medical emergencies during their trip.

It further noted that misuse of government benefits funded by US taxpayers can have serious and long-term consequences.

According to the US embassy, such misuse could negatively affect an individual's future opportunities to travel to, study in, or seek employment in the United States. The individual may even be considered ineligible for future entry into the country.

The embassy has called on prospective travellers to make the necessary financial preparations before travelling to the United States and to properly follow US visa and immigration regulations.
