US embassy issues stern warning to student visa holders

The US embassy in Dhaka has issued a fresh and strict warning for students going to the United States on student visas. It has cautioned that dropping out of studies midway, being regularly absent from classes, or withdrawing from a course without notifying the institution could lead to visa cancellation and even make future visa approvals uncertain.

The embassy issued the directive in an official Facebook post on Saturday, April 18.

It stated that student visa holders must abide by the prescribed rules and regulations and actively participate in their academic programmes.

The post further said that unauthorised discontinuation of studies or violation of rules constitutes a breach of visa conditions. In such cases, the student's visa may be revoked, and any future application for a US visa also risks being rejected.

The US embassy in Dhaka has advised students to always comply with visa conditions and maintain their status as legitimate students to avoid potential complications.
