US envoy delighted by Malai Chop and Chhanar Jilapi

US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent Christensen has tasted the traditional sweets of Barishal.

The information was shared in a post on the Facebook page of the US Embassy in Dhaka on Monday, August 10.

In the embassy's post, Ambassador Brent Christensen said, "The rosogolla, malai chop and chhanar jilapi from the traditional Sokal Sondha Mistanna Bhandar are truly delicious!"

The US Ambassador asked Bangladeshis which sweet they prefer — rosogolla, malai chop or chhanar jilapi.

Earlier on Sunday, he visited the floating guava market in Bheemruli village in Jhalakathi. During the visit, he spoke with guava growers and orchard owners.

At that time, he posted various photos of his Barishal and Jhalakathi tour on the US Embassy's Facebook page, writing, "Visiting the beautiful waterways of Barishal by boat is wonderful!"
