US Embassy in Bangladesh has launched a special fleet of 50 red, white and blue rickshaws in Dhaka to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence and highlight bilateral ties between the two countries. In a statement posted on its official Facebook page, the embassy said US Ambassador Brent T Christensen unveiled the initiative as part of the commemorative celebrations. The themed rickshaws, decorated in the colours of the US flag, are intended to symbolise friendship and the long-standing partnership between the United States and Bangladesh, according to the embassy.

মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের ২৫০তম প্রতিষ্ঠাবার্ষিকী উপলক্ষে ৫০টি বিশেষ রিকশার উদ্বোধন করা হয়েছে। এসব রিকশা মার্কিন পতাকার আদলে তৈরি, তাই এগুলোর বিভিন্ন অংশে পতাকার তিনটি রং এবং তারার নকশা ফুটিয়ে তোলা হয়েছে। ঢাকার মার্কিন দূতাবাস জানায়, রাষ্ট্রদূত ব্রেন্ট ক্রিস্টেনসেন লাল, সাদা ও নীল রঙের এই বিশেষ রিকশাগুলো উদ্বোধন করেন। এই উদ্যোগের মাধ্যমে যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের স্বাধীনতা উদযাপনের পাশাপাশি বাংলাদেশ ও যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের মধ্যকার অংশীদারত্বের প্রতিফলন তুলে ধরা হয়েছে।
