US greets Bangladesh on Independence Day

The United States has extended greetings to Bangladesh on its Independence Day, reaffirming its support for Bangladesh's journey towards a bright and democratic future.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio conveyed the greetings in a statement on Wednesday, March 26.

"As Bangladesh celebrates this special day, I extend my sincere greetings to the people of the country and reaffirm the United States' commitment to working together to make our two nations safer, stronger and more prosperous," Rubio said.

The US Secretary of State congratulated the people of Bangladesh on Independence Day, noting that this year's celebration comes at a significant moment in the country's history. He noted that Bangladesh has entered a new chapter in its history following recent elections, adding that the Independence Day celebration holds special significance in this context.

The statement further said the United States is keen to continue its partnership with Bangladesh to strengthen economic development and regional security in the Indo-Pacific region.
