US Secretary of State Marco Rubio congratulates BNP on electoral victory

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has congratulated Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its chairman Tarique Rahman on their electoral success, expressing eagerness to work with the newly elected government.

In a social media message, Rubio said, “Congratulations to the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, its leader Tarique Rahman, and the people of Bangladesh. The United States looks forward to working with the newly elected government to advance regional prosperity and security.”

The message also highlighted hopes to strengthen bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the US and called for enhanced cooperation to achieve shared regional objectives.

Analysts view Rubio’s congratulations as a reflection of Washington’s positive outlook toward the new Bangladeshi government, signalling US strategic interest in stability, security, and economic development in South Asia.
