Verdict against 3 accused of crimes against humanity on Monday
The International Criminal Tribunal has fixed Monday (February 12) as the verdict date in the case of crimes against humanity in 19971 against the three defendants of Sherpur's Nakla. The three-member International Criminal Tribunal, headed by Chairman Justice Shahinur Islam, fixed the date on Sunday (11 February).
The three accused in jail are - Aminuzzaman Farooq, Mokhlesur Rahman alias Tara and AKM Akram Hossain.
Earlier, the tribunal had kept the case pending judgment (CAV) after hearing both sides on January 24.
Lawyers Abdus Sobhan Tarafdar and Abdus Sattar Palawan appeared for the accused in the court. On the other hand, prosecutor Rezia Sultana Chaman was on the side of the prosecution.
The investigation agency of the International Criminal Tribunal filed a report on July 26, 2017, investigating the allegations of crimes against humanity against the four Razakars of Nakla. A formal charge was filed in the tribunal on October 31 of the same year. On August 30, 2018, the International Criminal Tribunal ordered the trial to begin by forming charges against the defendants on four charges. Among the four accused, Emdadul Haque Khawaja died during the trial.
