Verdict would hold no value unless Hasina returned to Bangladesh
Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdho, twin brother of Shaheed Mir Mughdho, said the International Crimes Tribunal’s verdict against Sheikh Hasina and former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Kamal would hold no value unless they are brought back to Bangladesh and the sentences enforced.
Speaking to reporters outside the tribunal on Monday (November 17), he urged the Indian government not to shelter Sheikh Hasina, saying, "The Bangladeshi people should decide her fate."
Snigdho also expressed dissatisfaction over the five-year sentence given to former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun. "Five years is insufficient; he should have received life imprisonment. If the High Court allows an appeal, we will pursue it," he said.
