Victory assured, only formalities remain: Nur

The Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur expressed confidence about the victory on the upcoming election, saying, "Victory is already ours; February 12 will be just a formality."

He made the remarks while delivering the key speech at the 49th annual Urs Mahfil of Hazrat Gedu Shah Chishti (RA) in Gochani village under Dashmina Upazila of Patuakhali on Sunday night (January 11).

Nurul Haque Nur added, “I want to stand by you and work with you. It is our moral duty to ensure the participation of people from all political and Islamic groups, including BNP, Gono Odhikar Parishad, Awami League, and Jamaat, in religious and social events.”

He also said, “I want to develop Dashmina and Galachipa upazilas as role models. Leaders from all political parties will participate here, and mutual harmony will be maintained. Attending Waz Mahfils and Dua Mahfils is part of our culture and diversity.”

Speaking on democratic rights, Nur said, “Every individual has the freedom of expression and the right to observe religious ceremonies. We do not engage in politics that forcibly obstruct, attack, or create disorder for others.”
