Video Scandal: Shariatpur DC absent from duty

Shariatpur Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Ashraf Uddin left his workplace after a private video with a woman went viral on social media.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Md. Masudul Alam told the media on Friday (June 20) evening that the DC has not been in the district since the afternoon. He said, “The DC sir is not in the district since Friday afternoon. I don’t know where he has gone.”

When asked who is currently in charge as acting DC, he said, “The ADC (General) can give you that information.”

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Aslam Hossain said, “He went home after finishing work on Friday afternoon. But now, he is not in Shariatpur. I don’t have any information about his current location.”

In the video that went viral, the DC is seen in an intimate moment with a woman. The woman claims that the DC ruined her marital life by making false promises of marriage.

The incident has sparked widespread discussion within the administration and among the public. However, no official investigation committee has been formed yet.
