According to eyewitnesses, supporters of the Bangladesh Sanatan Jagaran Mancha were protesting outside the court, demanding the release of their spokesperson, Professor Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari. They blocked a police prisoner van for nearly three hours. In response, the police used tear gas and baton charges. The protesters then dispersed and regrouped in front of the Rangam Convention Hall, where they clashed with law enforcement.

Earlier on Monday, Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari was arrested in Dhaka on charges of desecrating the national flag. He was brought to Chattogram early on Tuesday and handed over to the Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP). Later, at 11.00 am, he was presented in court, where his bail was denied.
