Violent clash in Gopalganj leaves 3 dead, several injured

A violent clash broke out between police, military personnel, and banned Awami League activists following a National Citizen Party (NCP) rally in Gopalganj. The confrontation resulted in the deaths of three individuals and left eight others injured.

The incident occurred in the district town on Wednesday during ongoing tensions between law enforcement and political factions. The identities of the deceased and wounded have not yet been disclosed.

Dr. Jibitesh Biswas, supervisor at Gopalganj General Hospital, confirmed the casualties. "Eleven individuals were admitted to the hospital with gunshot wounds and injuries," he stated. "Among them, three succumbed to their injuries, while eight are receiving treatment."

Authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to the outbreak of violence.
