CEC in view-exchange meeting
Voter turnout rate to be broadcasted every 2hrs on voting day
The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal said, "The voter turnout rates will be broadcasted nationwide every two hours on the day of the election.
"If it is observed that at some places, the turnout is 30% at 2.00 pm and 90% at 3.00 pm, then it will not be reliable," he said
The CEC came up with the remarks while interacting with the law enforcers at field level at Advocate Tarek Smriti Auditorium in Mymensingh city on Sunday.
During the press briefing, the CEC said, "Any incidents of malpractice will not be tolerated. If any center experiences even a minor incident of irregularities, we will suspend the voting."
He further stated, "Voting should be fair and transparent. We will not believe in internal propaganda. Polling agents will ensure the integrity within the centers. If there is any secrecy breach in a center, we will stop the voting immediately. If needed, voting can be conducted up to 10 times in a center."
The Chief Election Commissioner said, "In terms of external security, there will be a total of 15-16 people from the law enforcement agencies. Our Ansar and VDP (Village Defense Party) will play a crucial role."
