Wall collapse kills two while queuing for TCB goods in Mirpur

Two people have died after a wall collapsed on a crowd waiting in line to collect TCB goods in the capital's Mirpur. At least six others were injured in the incident.

The accident occurred on Tuesday (July 28) when a boundary wall behind Mirpur University College collapsed. A large crowd was standing in line at the time to collect TCB goods, and several were trapped when the wall suddenly came down.

Mirpur Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Hafizur Rahman said two people died and at least six others were injured in the incident.

Police said one of the deceased has been identified as Nacima Begum. The identity of the other victim, a male, has not been confirmed immediately.

The injured were rescued and admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Police and locals conducted rescue operations at the scene after the accident. Authorities said the cause of the wall collapse is being investigated.
