We are ready for the 'second chapter': Sarjis

Sarjis Alam, the northern organizer of the National Citizen Party (NCP), has announced that he will fight until the Awami League is banned from politics in Bangladesh. He has referred to this fight as the 'second chapter'.

Sarjis Alam announced this fight in a post on his verified Facebook page at around 4 pm on Friday (March 21).

In that post, he said, 'We are ready for the second chapter of the fight.

Last night, NCP leader Hasnat Abdullah posted a post on his Facebook claiming that 'a plan is underway to bring the Awami League back to the country's politics'. Discussions on the matter have started since then.

Leaders of political parties including BNP-Jamaat are speaking out on this.

Protests have been held in various areas including Dhaka University after Friday prayers demanding the banning of the Awami League. Leaders and activists of an organization called Inqilab Manch have blocked Shahbagh intersection in the capital with the same demand.
