We buried cheating in 2006, no lenient approach this time either: Minister

Ahead of the upcoming HSC and equivalent examinations, Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon has announced a strict stance against question paper leaks and plagiarism. He said, we buried and buried plagiarism in 2006. This time too, no opportunity will be given for question paper leaks. Strict disciplinary action will be taken against those involved in such incidents.

He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at a view-sharing meeting organized by the Barisal Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board on Thursday (June 25).

The meeting was held at the Barisal District Shilpakala Academy auditorium. Officers in charge of various examination centers under the Barisal region participated in it.

The Education Minister said, questions cannot be allowed to be leaked. If questions are leaked, strict punishment will be arranged, no concessions will be given.

He told teachers that there is no alternative to merit. Teachers must take the responsibility of producing meritorious students. We are determined to change the education system.

Regarding cheating, he said, we had buried and buried cheating in 2006. But later it was seen that cheating, like Corona, has returned in a different variant. Now that opportunity will no longer exist.

Stating that surveillance will be further strengthened in the upcoming HSC examination, the minister said that the police members in charge of the examination will have body-worn cameras. In addition, CCTV cameras will be ensured in every examination center. Legal action will be taken against those concerned if they try to disrupt the security of the center.

He also said that new legal provisions have been added to ensure transparency in the score evaluation process. The minister said, there will be no opportunity to change the score. If necessary, I will bring the score from the board and verify it myself. The issues have been brought under the law.

In response to questions from journalists, the education minister claimed that this year's SSC examination was conducted smoothly and there was no incident of question paper leakage. He expressed the hope that the upcoming HSC examination will also be held in a peaceful and orderly environment.

Stating that he is visiting educational institutions across the country to improve the quality of education, he said, "My visit is to identify the problems of teachers, infrastructural limitations and necessary steps to improve the quality of education."

Regarding teacher recruitment, the minister said that progress is being made in various recruitment cases that have been pending in the courts for a long time.

He said that the hearing of about 32,500 teacher recruitment cases is scheduled to be held on July 2.

Member of Parliament Sharfuddin Ahmed Santu, Barisal City Corporation Administrator Bilkis Akhter Jahan Shirin, District Council Administrator Akon Kuddusur Rahman and senior officials of the divisional and district administrations were present at the event.
