We have been cheated; movement will continue: Primary teachers' delegation
The teacher representatives were taken to the office of the chief adviser instead of his residence to submit the memorandum. The assistant teachers of the agitating government primary school, who are aspiring for 10th grade, have complained that the memorandum could not be submitted as there was no responsible officer there. At the same time, they have also announced that they will continue the movement.
Mahbubur Rahman, the representative of the agitating teachers, gave this information at 7 pm on Friday (January 25).
He said, we have been cheated. We were told that we would be taken to the chief adviser's residence in Jamuna and taken to the chief advisor's office. And since there was no responsible officer there, the memorandum could not be submitted. This is a 'good omen'. We are surprised by such an incident. For now, we have decided to continue the sit-in program. The next decision will be taken after discussing with the rest of our colleagues.
Earlier, a 10-member delegation of teachers went to Jamuna in a police van from inside Shahbagh Police Station after 5 pm to submit a memorandum.
The delegation included— Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Md. Lutfar Rahman, Monibul Haque Basunia, Md. Moazzem Hossain Shahin, Abdul Mannan, Jewel, Bijoy Karmakar, Shamima Nasrin, Sirajul Islam and Khairun Nahar Lipi.
