Law Minister Anisul Huq has said that the government will request the Applleate Division of the Supreme Court to hold the hearing on quota reform issue in an earliest possible time. He said: "Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has instructed me to bring forward the hearing on the quota issue. I have talked with the attorney general in this regard." "The state will place a plea with the apex court in this regard on Sunday," he added. The minister made the remarks while talking to journalists on Thursday amid nationwide students' protest over quota reform in government jobs.

কোটা সংস্কারের মামলার শুনানি এগিয়ে আনার ব্যবস্থা করা হচ্ছে বলে জানিয়েছেন আইনমন্ত্রী আনিসুল হক। মন্ত্রী জানান, এ বিষয়টি ইতোমধ্যে অ্যার্টনি জেনারেলকে জানানো হয়েছে। বৃহস্পতিবার (১৮ জুলাই) বেলা ২টার দিকে আইনমন্ত্রী আনিসুল হক এক সংবাদ সম্মেলনে এ তথ্য জানান। আইনমন্ত্রী বলেন, “প্রধানমন্ত্রী আমাকে ঘোষণা দিতে বলেছেন যে, আগামী ৭ আগস্ট যে মামলা শুনানির কথা ছিল, সেই মামলার শুনানি এগিয়ে আনার জন্য ব্যবস্থা নিতে। আমি সেই মর্মে বাংলাদেশের অ্যাটর্নি জেনারেলকে নির্দেশ দিয়েছি যে, আগামী রোববার তিনি বাংলাদেশের সর্বোচ্চ আদালত আপিল বিভাগে আবেদন করবেন। যাতে মামলাটার শুনানির তারিখ তারা এগিয়ে আনেন।” মন্ত্রী আরও বলেন, “গতকাল প্রধানমন্ত্রী তার ভাষণে বিচারবিভাগীয় তদন্তের ঘোষণা দিয়েছিলেন। সেই প্রেক্ষিতে হাইকোর্টের বিচারপতি খোন্দকার দিলীরুজ্জামানকে দিয়ে বিচার বিভাগীয় তদন্ত কমিটি গঠনের প্রস্তাব করা হয়েছে। এই প্রস্তাব প্রধান বিচারপতির কাছে যাবে।”
