Weather forecast for 5 days of Eid released

Heatwaves swept across Dhaka and various parts of the country throughout last week, accompanied by significant rainfall in Dhaka and elsewhere. Rainfall was particularly heavy on Tuesday, May 26, with 42 millimetres recorded in the capital in the six hours from 6:00 am.

Rain was also recorded from morning in various areas of Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka and Sylhet divisions, with lower rainfall in the southern regions. Feni recorded 69 millimetres of rain.

Meteorologist Md Toriful Nawaz Kabir said cloud cover has moved towards Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions. Rainfall may decrease for the rest of the day, but several areas in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Sylhet and Mymensingh divisions may receive rain on Wednesday.

The Met office said the capital may receive significant rainfall on Wednesday night. On Thursday, Eid day, light to moderate rain is possible in Dhaka. The heatwave may subside today.

On Friday, May 29, temporary gusty or squally winds with lightning and light to moderate rain or thundershowers may occur in some areas of Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, and in one or two places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions. Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged across the country.

On Saturday, May 30, similar weather may occur in some areas of Rangpur, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, and in one or two places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna and Barishal divisions. Day and night temperatures may rise slightly across the country.
