What is in Mamunul Haque's election manifesto
Ahead of the elections, Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis candidate Maulana Mamunul Haque has unveiled his election manifesto today. He will contest in the 13th National Parliament election from Dhaka-13 constituency.
The manifesto, announced on Wednesday, has given the highest priority to essential and urgent sectors of civic life.

Corruption-free Dhaka-13: Intermediary syndicates will be eliminated by introducing digital systems for all services including land, trade licenses, and birth registration. Full transparency will be ensured by publicly disclosing development project budgets, contractors, and progress.

Eradicating terrorism, drugs and reforming juvenile gangs: A zero-tolerance policy will be adopted to eradicate terrorism, extortion, mugging, and drugs. Drug addicts will be treated and rehabilitated. Strict legal measures will be taken if they do not reform. Drug dealers and extortionists will be brought under the law.

Safe public roads and strengthening law and order: CCTV coverage, adequate street lights, and police patrols will be strengthened in risky areas. Special task forces will be formed in markets, terminals, and offices. Tender manipulation and political extortion will be stopped.

Resolving traffic congestion and modern urban management: Incomplete road works will be swiftly completed, footpaths will be freed from encroachment, illegal construction materials will be removed, and road islands will be greened. Initiatives will be taken for expressway connectivity on embankments and expanding metro rail facilities.

Resolving waterlogging and environmental protection: All canals, including the Ramchandrapur canal, will be freed, and an integrated drainage master plan will be implemented. Modern and sustainable waste management will be introduced.

Business-friendly Dhaka-13: The licensing process will be simplified under the "all services under one umbrella" policy. Problems of local industries, small factories, and commercial establishments will be solved, and new entrepreneurs will be nurtured to create employment.

Education and human resource development: Infrastructure of educational institutions will be developed, teacher shortages will be addressed, and modern labs will be established. Technical and vocational training will be strengthened, and freelancing and IT training centres will be launched. Encroached playgrounds will be reclaimed.

Sustainable solution to gas, water, and electricity crises: Corruption in transmission and distribution systems will be eliminated to ensure fair distribution. Services will be provided by preventing discrimination in the distribution system compared to other areas of Dhaka.

Expanding health and civic services: Capacity of government hospitals and clinics will be increased, doctor-nurse shortages will be addressed, and modern diagnostic facilities will be provided. Irregularities in TCB and allowance distribution will be stopped. Geneva Camp and slum dwellers will be rehabilitated.

Religious values and social harmony: Security, infrastructure development, and cleanliness of all religious institutions will be ensured. Initiatives will be taken to prevent social decay by engaging religious leaders.

Culture, heritage, and civic freedom: Full freedom will be ensured to practice one's own religion and culture. All national days, including Independence Day, Victory Day, and Language Martyrs' Day, will be celebrated with dignity and universal participation.

Women's rights and child development: CCTV and hotlines will be introduced for women's security. Employment for women in small and cottage industries will be arranged. Child labour will be stopped and daycare centres will be established. Prostitutes and hijras will be socially and economically rehabilitated.

Honouring martyrs and heroes and establishing politics of accountability: Respect, allowances, and rights of freedom fighters, July fighters, and Shapala martyrs will be ensured. Compensation and rehabilitation will be provided to affected families. A politics of accountability will be established through regular dialogue with the people and open exchange of views.
