Whoever comes to power must ensure justice for enforced disappearances-Murders: Tarique Rahman
Tarique Rahman, the Acting Chairman of BNP, stated that no matter which government comes to power, they must ensure justice for the martyrs, enforced disappearances, and murders that occurred during the movement to protect democracy.
He virtually joined an iftar gathering from London at Lake Shore Hotel in the capital on Sunday (March 16), organized by ‘We are BNP Family,’ with the families of the disappeared and martyrs from the democratic movement.
Tarique Rahman said, "If BNP wins the election, we will ensure that those who were affected and martyred in the past anti-autocracy movement receive justice."
He also expressed hope that all political parties would unite for justice for the families of martyrs and victims of enforced disappearances and murders.
At the iftar gathering, members of martyr families expressed their concern over the lack of attention to justice for those who lost their lives in the mass uprising. They warned that if justice is not delivered, they would once again take to the streets.
During the event, job appointment letters and Eid gifts were distributed to the families of the martyrs.
