Win people's hearts through service: DMP Commissioner

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali has said that the hearts of the people must be won by providing desired and lawful services. The image of the police must be further enhanced by doing positive work for the people of this country.

He made these remarks on Sunday (May 18) morning after inspecting the Grand Master Parade held at the Rajarbagh Police Lines ground.

To increase the physical fitness of police officers and forces and to ensure discipline, the Grand Master Parade was held this morning at the Rajarbagh Police Lines ground in a colorful and festive atmosphere.

The parade was commanded by Deputy Police Commissioner (Welfare & Force) Rawnak Alam, BPM.

At the start of the parade, when the DMP Commissioner arrived at the parade ground, he was given an armed salute accompanied by a decorated band. He later inspected various contingents formed by members of different DMP units.

After the inspection, the DMP Commissioner addressed the officers and forces participating in the parade, saying that the main purpose of the Master Parade is to ensure discipline among the officers and forces. The police is a disciplined force. There is no scope for doing anything against discipline or beyond the law and regulations.

The Commissioner said, "You must clean your workplaces once a week. Everyone must properly perform their duties to further enhance the image of the police and serve the welfare of the people. By working together, we can transform the DMP into a more modern, dynamic, and trusted institution."

He added, "Every task must be carried out with professionalism and dedication in the service of the people. Any situation must be faced with strong morale. Always keep your morale high." The DMP Commissioner instructed all to remain neutral and fully devoted to public service.

The Master Parade was attended by Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic) Md. Sarwar, BPM-Service; Additional Police Commissioner (Admin) Faruk Ahmed; Additional Police Commissioner (Crime & Operations) S. N. Md. Nazrul Islam; Additional Police Commissioner (Counter Terrorism & Transnational Crime) Md. Masud Karim; Additional Police Commissioner (Logistics, Finance & Procurement) Hasan Md. Shawkat Ali; along with Joint Police Commissioners, Deputy Police Commissioners, Officers-in-Charge of all DMP police stations, and police officers of various ranks.
