The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of storms with winds reaching up to 60 kilometers per hour, accompanied by rain and lightning, over three regions of the country. The advisory is effective for inland river ports until 6:00 PM on Tuesday (March 24).

According to the warning, temporary gusts or squalls from the west or northwest, ranging from 45 to 60 km/h, may occur over the Rangpur, Dinajpur, and Mymensingh regions. These may be accompanied by rain or thunderstorms.

Authorities have advised river ports in these areas to display Signal No. 1 (Repeated) as a precaution.

Additionally, the 120-hour weather forecast issued at 9:00AM indicates that the northern extension of a low-pressure system is currently over West Bengal and neighboring areas, while the seasonal low-pressure system persists over the southern Bay of Bengal. As a result, temporary gusty winds and thunderstorms may occur at isolated places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions.

Elsewhere in the country, the weather is expected to remain mostly dry with partly cloudy skies, and daytime and nighttime temperatures may rise slightly nationwide.
