Woman found with throat slit in Gaibandha rented house
Police have recovered the body of a woman with her throat slit from a rented house in Palashbari, Gaibandha. A severed male genital organ was also recovered from the scene.
The body was recovered on Saturday, March 28, from a house adjacent to Amlagachi Road in the Dholbhanga Bazar area of the upazila.
The deceased is Bobita Begum, 30, wife of Harun Mia, a resident of Amlagachi area in Betkapa union of the upazila.
Police said they were alerted through the national emergency service 999 around 11:00 am and went to the scene. The body of Bobita Begum was found on a bed inside the room with her throat slit. After preparing an inquest report, the body was recovered. A severed male genital organ was also recovered from the scene.
Police said the deceased's husband, Harun Mia, was not found at the house at the time of the incident.
Palashbari Police Station Officer-in-Charge Saroware Alam Khan confirmed the matter and said preparations are underway to send the body to Gaibandha Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. The matter is being investigated, he added.
