Woman gives birth to quadruplets in Bogura
A woman in Bogra gave birth to quadruplets at TMSS Medical College and Rafatullah Community Hospital on Friday night. Both the mother and her newborns are currently healthy and receiving care at the hospital.
The delivery, performed via cesarean section around 10.00pm, was confirmed by Associate Professor Dr Monowara Khatun.
The mother, Jannati Akhter Jui (35), hails from Saharpukur village in Dupchanchia upazila and is the wife of Shariful Islam, a Saudi expatriate. The couple already has a 8-year-old son. Jui had traveled to Saudi Arabia last year to perform Umrah and stayed briefly with her husband, after which she returned to Bangladesh pregnant.
According to Jui’s aunt, Moslema Begum, she was rushed to the hospital after experiencing labor pains on Friday afternoon. Doctors confirmed through tests that she was carrying quadruplets, who were at 32 weeks gestation. Due to her physical condition, doctors decided to perform an early cesarean section, five weeks before the expected date.
Dr Monowara Khatun stated that the mother and babies are in good health and the newborns are under observation in the pediatric ward. Jui’s husband expressed immense joy at the birth of their four children.
