Woman stabbed to death in Mymensingh over Tk10 dispute nephew arrested

A woman was stabbed to death following a a dispute over Tk 10 in Fulbaria upazila of Mymensingh.

The incident took place in Kaiyarachala village under Bakta union on Tuesday afternoon (April 15).

The deceased, Ayesha Khatun, 45, was the wife of Tara Mia from the same village.

The suspected attacker—her nephew—has been arrested after the incident, police confirmed.

Police said the altercation began between Ayesha’s son, Ashik, and his cousin Touhid over the disputed Tk 10. The argument escalated into a physical confrontation when Ashik refused to return the money.When Ayesha intervened to resolve the dispute, Touhid allegedly stabbed her with a sharp weapon, leaving her dead on the spot.

Saifullah Saif, officer-in-charge (OC) Fulbaria Police Station, said,"The body has been recovered and taken into custody. A legal proceedings are underway into this matter."
