Woman, two children found throat slit in Cumilla home
Police discovered the bodies of a woman and two children with their throats slit at a residence in Homna Upazila’s Manipur area on Tuesday morning (February 17).
According to police, the victims include the wife and one child of expatriate Zahidul Islam, along with another young child from the same household.
The gruesome scene prompted immediate involvement from local police, who cordoned off the area for investigation.
The shocking incident has sent ripples through the local community, raising concerns over safety and security in the area.
Authorities are questioning neighbours and family members while examining the house for evidence.
Morshedul Alam Chowdhury, officer-in-charge (OC) of Homna Police Station, confirmed the incident, stating that the exact motive behind the killings is still unclear.
“We have launched a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances leading to this crime and to identify the perpetrators,” he said.
No arrests have been made so far, and the police have urged anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation
