Woman’s body found in sack in Kadamtali

Police recovered the body of a woman from a sack near a shop in the Muradpur area of Kadamtali on Friday morning, sparking concern among local residents.

The deceased was identified as Rekhsana Begum, 42, hailing from Sutabaria village in Galachipa upazila, Patuakhali, according to Sub-Inspector Kamrun Nahar of Kadamtali Police Station.

The body was discovered around 9:15am on Haji Lal Mia Sardar Road, following a tip-off received via the national emergency helpline 999.

“The face was partially decomposed, but there were no visible injury marks,” said SI Nahar. “We recovered the body from a sack and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.”

Police have notified the victim’s family. Further details are expected once relatives arrive in Dhaka.

An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
