Worker dies in hill collapse in Sylhet
A worker died following a hill collapse in Dakshin Surma of Sylhet. The incident took place on Tuesday (April 8) at Mohammadpur Paschim Para in the Silam Union of the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Suman Ahmed (30), son of Rajab Ali from Rustampur Tilapara under Silam Union.
According to the police, Suman was cutting soil from the hill on Tuesday morning to load it onto a vehicle at Mohammadpur Paschim Para. At that time, a nearby hill collapsed, trapping Suman under the debris. Locals managed to rescue him and took him to the hospital, but the attending doctor declared him dead.
Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Moglabazar Police Station, Khondokar Mostafizur Rahman, said, "The police visited the scene after receiving the news. The body is currently in the morgue of Osmani Medical College Hospital. An unnatural death case has been filed."
