Worker's hanging body recovered from Barishal factory
Police have recovered the hanging body of a factory worker from a mung bean processing plant in the BSCIC Industrial Estate of Barishal city.
The deceased was identified as Durjoy Saha, 30, a worker at CMS Mung Dal Factory and son of Robinath Saha from Brahmankuthi village in Pirojpur. He had been employed at the factory for nearly a year.
According to Kaunia Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sanjit Chandra Nath, the body was recovered around 4:00pm on Thursday (July 23) and sent to the hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Co-workers said Durjoy had worked as usual throughout the day before returning to his room inside the factory premises. When he failed to return after a long time, fellow workers began searching for him. One of them, identified as Shakil, looked through the room's window and found Durjoy hanging from a ceiling fan with a towel wrapped around his neck.
Police later recovered the body and began investigating the incident.
The OC said it is too early to determine whether the death was a suicide or the result of foul play, adding that the exact cause of death will be known after the post-mortem examination report is received.
