The centre secretary and 11 room observers of the Kanchpur Omar Ali High School centre in Sonargaon, Narayanganj, have been relieved of their duties after the SSC examination was conducted with the wrong question paper on the first day for Bangla First Paper.

On Tuesday, 177 examinees at the centre took the exam with the wrong question paper. Around two hours later, following the intervention of Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Asif Al Jinat, the exam was reconducted with the new question paper after 125 minutes, and examinees were given an additional one hour and 40 minutes.

Immediately after the incident, centre secretary Abdul Motin Sarkar was relieved of his duties. Later on Wednesday, an order signed by Dhaka Education Board Examination Controller Professor S M Kamal Uddin Bahar relieved 11 room observers of that centre from all SSC examination duties.

The relieved teachers include several male and female teachers from various schools.

Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board Chairman Professor Dr Khandaker Ehsanul Kabir has recommended departmental action against centre secretary Abdul Motin Sarkar.

UNO Asif Al Jinat said the centre secretary has already been relieved and a new centre secretary has been appointed. The process of taking departmental action is underway in light of the education board's directives.
