Young woman alleges assault for feeding dogs in Banasree

The allegation of assault against several locals has arisen against a young woman named Sumaiya Rahman over feeding street dogs in Banasree area of the capital. This incident occurred in Lal Mia Goli of 8/3 number road of Banasree F Block around 10pm last Tuesday.

Sumaiya has given a complaint at Khilgaon police station in this incident on Wednesday. Officer-in-charge (OC) of Khilgaon police station Saiful Islam has confirmed the matter of the complaint.

The allegation of Sumaiya is that a teenager standing in front of a local cloth shop told her to move away while she was feeding several street dogs. At one stage of the altercation over this a youth of 20 to 22 years punched her on the face. Later several more people came and punched and kicked her.

She alleged that she was assaulted and insulted for about half an hour. Injuries were sustained on her face, jaw, under the eyes and hands in the attack. She took treatment at Mugda Medical College Hospital in the morning on Wednesday.

OC of Khilgaon police station Saiful Islam said Sumaiya has made a complaint at the police station on Wednesday. After the complaint the thana police inspected the spot by taking Sumaiya along in the afternoon. Who are involved in the attack has not yet been identified. The matter is being investigated. Necessary legal measures will be taken against those involved.
