Youth are driving force behind digital transformation: Fayez Ahmad Tayeb
Fayez Ahmad Tayeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser in charge of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology, has stated that youth are the main driving force behind Bangladesh’s digital transformation.
He made the remark while speaking at the "L3AD.net Digital Innovation Summit 2025", held on Saturday (July 26) at Hotel Sonargaon in Dhaka.
“Sixty percent of the country’s population are youth, and they are leading the digital revolution,” he said. “To turn this vast human resource into a skilled and productive force, the government is implementing long-term plans in the ICT sector.”
Among the ongoing initiatives, Fayez Ahmad Tayyeb highlighted the development of ICT infrastructure, investment in startups, strengthening cybersecurity, and the formulation of national policies on artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and blockchain technology.
He further informed that a plan has been undertaken to establish ten innovation hubs in partnership with ten universities across the country. Additionally, a project has already been launched to digitize Bangladesh’s literary and cultural heritage in order to strengthen AI-based language models for the Bangla language.
Fayez Ahmad Tayyeb called upon technology firms, researchers, and entrepreneurs to actively participate in the formulation of the upcoming national digital policies. He concluded by saying, “To build a smart, inclusive, and innovative Bangladesh, we need a united effort from all stakeholders.”
