Youth dies after being run over by train in Ramu

A person named Md Abdullah, 40, has died after being run over by a train in Ramu of Cox’s Bazar. The accident occurred on the railway line of the upazila around 9:30am on Monday (August 31).

The deceased Abdullah is the son of late Abdul Sobur Driver of Sikdarpara village of Ward No 3 under Fatekharkul union of Ramu upazila.

It has been learnt citing locals that Abdullah was run over under a train while moving on the railway line in the morning. Due to this he died at the spot. However why he had climbed onto the railway line and where he was going at the time of the accident could not be known immediately.

After getting the news of the accident the concerned authorities reached the spot and recovered the body. Later the body was sent to the morgue of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Ramu police station A K Fazlul Haque has confirmed the matter of the accident and death. He informed that necessary information is being collected to know the real reason of the incident.

A shadow of grief has descended among his family and the locals after the news of Abdullah’s death spread.
